Tuck-In Call Volunteer

Provide essential logistical support and friendly check-ins to patients and caregivers by making weekly "tuck-in" calls to verify medication and supply needs before weekends. Position Summary:

Provide essential logistical support and friendly check-ins to patients and caregivers by making weekly “tuck-in” calls to verify medication and supply needs before weekends. Key Responsibilities:

  • Make weekly scheduled phone calls to assigned patients and/or caregivers (typically Thursday or Friday)
  • Follow a structured script to verify medication supplies, medical supplies, and equipment needs
  • Document any identified needs or concerns in the volunteer tracking system
  • Report urgent needs immediately to the Volunteer Coordinator or on-call nurse
  • Provide friendly conversation and emotional support during calls
  • Maintain accurate records of all calls made and outcomes
  • Adhere strictly to call schedules to ensure all patients are contacted weekly

Time Commitment:

  • Minimum: 3 months
  • Hours per week: 2-3 hours (typically 1-2 hours of calling plus documentation)
  • Schedule: Thursdays and/or Fridays, specific hours coordinated with Volunteer Coordinator

Location:

  • 100% remote – can be done from home or any location with phone and internet access
  • No travel required

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Minimum age: 16 years (with parental consent if under 18)
  • Completion of 8-hour core confidentiality and communication training
  • Clear background check (for volunteers 18+)
  • Reliable phone and internet access
  • Clear, pleasant phone voice and professional phone manner
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Basic computer skills for documentation
  • Ability to follow scripts and protocols precisely
